Journeying together as we discover

God’s love and purpose for our lives

Salvation

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. (1 Peter 2:24, NIV)

Contrary to what many believe, multiple paths to heaven do not exist. There is only one way to Heaven, to personally accept Jesus Christ. He willingly stepped out of His splendor in heaven and came to live among us as one of us. Jesus lived a sinless life and ultimately gave His life—the perfect sacrifice to pay for our sins.

Roman soldiers physically nailed Christ to the Cross, but it was our sins that put Him there. In this painting, Salvation, a man is shown at the foot of the Cross holding the hammer and the nail. We are the reason He came, and all we have to do is accept His free gift of salvation.

Healing

Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.” (Luke 8:48, NIV)

No greater healer has ever walked the earth than Jesus Christ. And the wonderful news is that He still heals today. Divine Healing visually illustrates one of the greatest examples of what faith in Christ can do for an individual. Maybe you’ve heard the story. The woman who had seen every doctor in the land, and none could help her. But there was one Man who could. In faith and desperation, she reached out to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment. In that instant, she was healed!

How many people walk through the doors of church, desperately seeking healing no earthly doctor can provide? The same Jesus who healed this woman two thousand years ago still heals today.

Holy Spirit

All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. (Acts 2:4, NIV)

When Jesus left the earth, He said He would send a helper—the Holy Spirit. And He came. The Holy Spirit empowered 120 people with fire and languages they did not know. They received power and boldness to witness. Signs and wonders followed them. Their faith was increased.

Is the baptism in the Holy Spirit available to believers today? Yes! God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. The baptism of His Holy Spirit is available to all believers, and defies culture, gender, or social status. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit beautifully illustrates the anointing carried across the ages and cultural boundaries to rest on “every man.”

Second Coming

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. (1 Thessalonians 4:16, NIV)

Only the Father knows the day and the hour His Son will return. We must be ready; He may return at any moment. When Jesus comes this time, He won’t come as a baby, nor will the event go unnoticed. This time, the entire world will pay attention.

The painting Second Coming of Jesus Christ imagines the moment when God says, “Enough,” and Christ steps off the throne to make His grand appearance on earth. We should not only expect His return, but tell others that His return is close at hand. His return is guaranteed, so we must ask ourselves...who are we taking with us?
